14 November 2017, Bonn, Germany At COP23, the United Nations Southern Climate Partnership Incubator (SCPI) released a report on Climate Partnerships for a Sustainable Future Report: An overview of South-South cooperation on Climate Change in the context of sustainable development and efforts to eradicate poverty.
The report highlights the role that South-South cooperation on climate change can play in addressing climate change challenges and advancing climate mitigation and adaptation actions.
This report is an initial overview of initiatives related to Southern climate cooperation that are being undertaken by various developing countries and other stakeholders. It outlines various modalities and types of Southern climate cooperation that are contributing to all the dimensions of sustainable development. Developing countries can substantially benefit from such climate partnerships.
